Level 1

Level One Foundations of Self-Protection covers the essential skills for standing your ground in any physical, intellectual or emotional conflict. It contains 12 of the most common self-defense scenarios, 12 fundamental martial art skills, and covers topics well beyond just the physical techniques, such as legal considerations, methods for making correct decisions under pressure, and even ways to present yourself to the world so that conflict is less likely to show up in your life.

Level 2

Level Two Advanced Self-Protection builds upon the principles of confidence, ability to recognize danger and capacity to respond effectively that you learned in Level One. It contains 12 self-defense scenarios that focus on using tactics, positioning and strategy to successfully win a conflict, and 12 self-defense scenarios that use connection, timing and pre-emptive energy as a method of wining.

Level 3

Level Three Path of the Protector contains 12 self-defense scenarios that focus on using an aggressor’s energy against them and ‘disappearing’ even in the midst of conflict, as well as 12 self-defense scenarios that teach creative problem solving skills, using martial art strategies to win in unexpected ways. In addition to these more advanced self-defense skills, Level Three covers advanced decision-making tactics, skills for defending against an armed attacker, and shows you how to fuse together everything you’ve learn to this point.

Shane Raitoshi Stevens

Shane Raitoshi Stevens (3rd Degree Black Belt, training since 2003) is chief instructor at the Dayton Quest Center Headquarters Dojo, and oversees the CTI (Coach, Trainer, Instructor) leadership training program. His motivating and inspiring approach elevates spirits and advances technical skills of every student in every class or lesson.

James Kentoshi Norris (7th Degree, training since 1992) is Director of Education for the world-wide SKH Quest affiliate instructor network based in the Dayotn Quest Center Headquarters Dojo. Dennis Fuutoshi Mahoney

Dennis Fuutoshi Mahoney (6th Degree, training since 1988) is senior teacher at Shinobi Martial Arts in Plaistow, New Hampshire, and co-creator of LIVE: Lessons In Violence Evasion for women and children. He offers a high level of technical knowledge and practical coaching tips to assist every student with skill advancement.

An-shu Rumiko Hayes

An-shu Rumiko Urata Hayes was born in Kumamoto, Japan, graduated from Sophia International University in Tokyo, and studied the ninja martial arts at her husband’s side from the 1970s. She is co-founder of To-Shin Do 21st-century self-defense self development martial arts adapted from the historical traditions of the Togakure ninja, and is working on restoring the self-regenerative healing Ryutai Undo Ho “ninja yoga” to the martial arts.

An-shu Stephen K. Hayes

Black Belt Magazine Hall of Fame calls An-shu Stephen K. Hayes “a legend in the martial arts.” Prolific book author and university professor, he introduced the authentic Japanese ninja martial arts to the West in the 1970s, and traveled as security escort with Nobel Peace Prize laureate the Dalai Lama in the 1990s. He has taught thousands of practitioners around the world the classical Togakure ninja martial arts, the practical modern To-Shin Do self-defense adaptation, and the mind and spirit sciences of vajrayana lore.
